What does he means by dedicate this song for me?

i had a huge fight with this guy. i love him, and he used to love me too, i guess. and the next day he dedicated 'fall for you' by secondhand serenade to me. then, we fight again that i don't want to listen to his explanation that i think he had nothing else to explain. i know he doesn't sincere towards me, so i don't think that he needs to explain anything. but, why he dedicate the song? is it love, or just friend, or means nothing?
