I'm 38 weeks pregnant 3 cm dilated 70% eff. my babies head is lodged in my pelvis. Is this hurting him or me?

I was dilated to 2 cm at 36 weeks. Now I'm 38 weeks and I've dilated to 3 cm. It hurts really bad when I go to the bathroom there is soo much pressure. Also my contractions hurt really bad. Is this hurting me or my baby at all?
